California Coastal Cleanup
San Joaquin County

The California Coastal Cleanup event is a major part of International Coastal Cleanup, which is facilitated by the Ocean Conservancy and includes the participation of many U.S. states and territories, as well as over 70 countries. SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY has participated in this event annually, since 1999, except during 2020, when the event was cancelled due to the COVID pandemic. In California, data is reported to the California Coastal Commission as part of the international cleanup efforts. By participating in SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY's cleanup event in September, you are joining hundreds of thousands of volunteers all over the world to remove pollution from our ecosystems!

Date for 2025 Coastal Clean Up to be Announced!

At various sites throughout the County, volunteers gather to clear trash and debris from creeks and waterways. Public Works staff coordinates these Cleanup activities with the goal of providing volunteers a hands-on opportunity to exhibit environmental leadership! Coastal Cleanup Day has been supported by numerous partners throughout the years, including the City of Stockton, the City of Lodi, the city of Tracy and several local and regional business community organizations.

Get involved! Volunteer as an individual, with friends and family, or as a corporate team. Registration to be shared soon! Please contact Tamika Miller, at San Joaquin County, at (209) 468-3560, for more information.
